VOGT Family Recipes
We've collected a few favorite recipes over the years. Some are handed down (or handed over!) by family members, making them true family recipes, I guess. Others have been collected from various places at various times. Herewith are a few of our favorites...
It's got celery, and a lot more! A meal in itself, and absolutely required at our Thanksgiving table. We even get asked to bring it when we travel to other houses for Thanksgiving - from both sides of the family!
This is a quick and easy recipe we brought back from a cousin in Ireland in 1984. Makes a hearty loaf of soda bread, great with soups or stews. But only make what you can eat in one sitting - it doesn't keep well.
This is a chocolate cake to die for! It's closer to a big round frosted brownie than a cake consistency - heavy, dense, and very chocolatey! Don't take a regular "cake" sized piece unless you can tolerate lots of chocolate!
