Renewal of Vows

We started off the celebration with a Renewal of our Wedding Vows, based on the words of the original ceremony, but updated to reflect the passage of 25 years. We had written the original ceremony ourselves 25 years ago, so we used that as a basis for the updated renewal ceremony. Included in the updated ceremony was Audrey reading How Sweet It Is To Love Someone, a poem we had written 25 years ago (loosely based on a John Denver song theme), and Megan singing Paul Stookey's Wedding Song, which was part of the original ceremony too.

At the end of the ceremony, I snatched the microphone and surprised Lynn with a new pair of wedding rings, just like the original ones. Our original rings had fallen on hard times; mine had shrunk - yeah right - and the pattern had been smoothed out over the ears from use, Lynn's had been disfigured by a disreputable jeweler while trying to resize it. I caught her completely by surprise, as evidenced by the photos.
