Another New (to us) Car

Well, we're back up to being a three-car family.  We had three cars for a while, but when Audrey totaled the old 1988 Dodge Caravan, we were reduced to two cars and we stayed there for a while.  During my last business trip (to Stuttgart and Brussels again) Lynn felt motivated to start looking for a new car as a possible replacement for the 1993 Geo Storm.  At the least a new car would bring the total back up to three and relieve some of the intense scheduling conflicts that occur when four people vie for two cars.........

She found a 1997 Ford Escort LX at Bonnell Ford on Cambridge Road in Winchester (just over the Woburn line).  Low mileage, four doors, power everything, Pacific Green color (though it says blue on the registration), and very peppy.  I remember Escorts from my youth as being not much bigger than shoeboxes and built out of tin cans - often used as a spare tire for a Crown Victoria.  This 1997 Escort is none of that.  It's a lot bigger than I remember Escorts being, and the quality of engineering is right up there.  This is not a compact car like I think of compact cars. Surprise surprise.  Since this new little car is green, maybe we can call it the big eggplant van's stem!?
