Gain a car, lose a car . . . . .

Just two months after acquiring the newer van, the old van appears to be a goner.

Audrey had a fight with a telephone pole on the way to work Saturday  morning.  She lost this fight. She's ok, but VERY lucky. She hit a telephone pole square on. She was fumbling around under the dash trying to close the manual vent. She took a pole out and the power in the neighborhood (it happened down the street from our house). The power company had to replace the pole, it cracked and almost broke in half. I was awakened by a cell-phone call from my niece, who lives in the area.  She had come out of her house to see what had happened and recognized the car. Audrey came away relatively unscathed, considering. She broke her nose and tore the line of skin on the inside of the upper lip that attaches the lip to the center of the gums (called the frenum - it bled a lot), and she has seat belt burns at the pressure points. She has a fat lip and lots of bumps and bruises, but other than that (and being pretty shook up) she's ok.  The impact tore the entire dashboard off.  If she hadn't been wearing her seat belt, it would have been MUCH worse..............
