RE: Family Tree
Greetings!
While searching online for some of my Buttimer relatives, I discovered your family tree submission that included my great grandfather's sister, Elizabeth Mary Buttimer. My great grandfather was Michael Joseph Buttimer (1876-1965)
I tried to download your tree but the file didn't translate well into my Family Tree Maker software. I couldn't find your name to determine how we might be related, but did however discover some familiar names including some my grandmother's (Margaret Buttimer Meade) siblings (Barbara, Eleanor and John Arthur) as well as the name of my grandfather, William Meade and my Uncle, Richard Meade.
My lineage is as follows:
Michael Joseph Buttimer wed Margaret McDonough
their daughter Margaret Mary Buttimer wed William Henry Meade Jr.
their son William Paul Meade wed Kathleen Ann Kane
their son is ME James Michael Meade
please reply if/when you can.
thank you
James Meade

RE: Re: Family Tree
Dear Joanne,
It was a pleasant surprise to receive your response. My wife and I live in Greenfield, Ma. about 75 miles west of Woburn on route 2. I visited Woburn back in March to see the house that my grandmother grew up in on Nichols St. I also visited the graves of my great and great-great- grandparents in Calvary cemetery in Woburn.
I was born in 1961 and my great-grandfather (Grand-daddy, as my father and his siblings called him) died in 1965. I remember him, but only faintly. he seemed really tall, a trait that my brother and cousins inherited, but I missed out) I have fond memories of my great aunt Mary, and my father recently told me that she lived in Greenfield for some period of time (long before I lived here) when she taught in this area. I don't think I've seen Ellen Sullivan in about 25 years. I seem to remember going to aunt Mary's house in Foxboro and Ellen let my sister ride her horse.
I emailed my father's sister Brenda with my discovery of your information, and she is quite anxious to find out the relationship. As I mentioned in my earlier email, your tree didn't translate well into my software, so I can see the names of people like my dad's brother Richard, my Aunt Brenda's husband Philip Doherty, but I didn't see references to my dad or Brenda.
I would be happy to share any information that you'd be intered in, and if you wish, feel free to call me if you like, I'm usually home after 5:00 PM.

Hopefully, the pleasant weather will continue and make for a comfortable reunion and wedding.
your "cousin",
Jim Meade
