German Exchange Program - Oct-Nov 1999

And yet again we hosted a German exchange student from Bremen.  Max Thieme shared our home for 2½ weeks.  He arrived on Wednesday, October 20th, and stayed through Sunday, November 7th.  As in previous years, while the German students were here they visited a number of sights in and around Boston, including Olde Sturbridge Village, Wolf Hollow in Ipswich, and a number of sights in Boston proper. While Max was here he experienced a Computer Show in Wilmington ($5 to get in, and bargains galore), he joined us at the North Shore Music Theater for a musical (The Secret Garden), he came with me on election day to the local polling place to observe American Democracy first-hand, and he even joined us on a 3-day trip as we drove down to Western Pennsylvania for an open-house at a college that Audrey is interested in attending. Also while he was here he consumed enough orange juice and apple cider to keep the orchards in Massachusetts and the orange groves in Florida in business for another season!

Max was quite camera-shy, but here are a few photos of the visit.......
