Visiting Mickey 1.....

Gene and Jo with cousin Mickey in front of his spartan home at Knockbrack in Ardfert. This is the house where my grandfather and great-grandfather were born. It passed to my grandfather's younger brother Eugene when my grandfather emigrated. Eugene was Mickey's father. The house itself is simple - concrete floor, no central heat, bathroom in an attached building. The house used to be whitewashed regularly but it has deteriorated in recent years as Mickey gets older and cares less about upkeep.
